Yes T that is what i have been trying to do just forget about him and enjoy the summer with my friends or a nice guy if he comes along. And yes a fling would be great! But def not falling for him :)

First i havent posted in awhile so i wanted to say hello to everyone. Also give you an update on my "love" life, or lack there of. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I have posted "woah is me" threads before, but this one is more specific I was on and off dating a boy for a year. In the beginning i thought he was totally single. A few months later after we spent a lot of days (and nights) together i come to find out he has a pregnant girl whom he lives with!!!!! AY DIOS! After my initial wave of shock and hysteria he tells me her pregnancy was a last resort for their relationship but alas even that will not work. He claims he is with her only because of the baby but they are no longer romantically involved. I try to believe him but a few weeks later break up with him cuz you know i am too good for all that drama. Well about 2 months later he comes back into my life telling me that he loves his daughter but NOT her mother and they have decided to be just friends and he has moved out. He wants another chance to prove he wants me. Of course a few weeks later i agree but start things off slow and on MY terms. Things are better, but not perfect since the boy hasnt really had a new girlfriend in years since he was with baby momma all that time. We were together for 6 more months, until a few weeks ago he tells me he is still confused and thinks he wants to live with his daughter and in turn GET BACK WITH BABY MOMMA. I am more surprised at my naiveness than his actions and again hysterical crying asking him why he has decided it was my heart he wanted to break more than once, and asking myself why i let him. Well obviously that was the last straw and have now totally cut him out of my life. Unfortunately in the process i realized i love him and i miss him but would sooner cut my fingers off than dial his number. GOODBYE TO THE LOSER! Anyway i am better now but its so hard to meet a new guy. And im sorry but there is no better way to forget about someone with somebody else (as long as they dont mind being the rebound :) Why is it SO hard. And why always for the good girls

Well i understand both accounts. Josie didnt say Country Woman was racist. She said that comment sounded a bit racist, and i agree with that. However i understand what Brooke meant about pre-judging, but i dont think anyone was judging anyone here. It was the way it sounded is all. She shouldve worded it more carefully

I semi-enjoyed the show, although ive seen better in the past. I LOVED Alicia Keys performance. I think she is very talented and a true artist. She looked so beautiful in her white dress playing the white grand piano. I liked Kanye West's performace and i liked Gwen and Eve as well as Usher. I didnt think anyone elses was that great. I thought JLo and Marc Anthonys performance was the WORST. It was so corny and nauseating. I think most people were rolling their eyes thinking "No one freakin cares you 2 are married!" She also has no singing ability. Whats funny is that a couple of hours before my girlfriends and i were discussing how a lot of people dont like Jennifer Lopez becuase of the decisions shes made with her personal life. However, my friends and i really like her because we all think that shes been able to make herself into the multimillion $$ empire that she done by herself. She was a young Hispanic woman in NYC who is succesful becuase it seemed she worked and continues to work hard for it, so in a way she paved the way for girls like us who are of the same background. So we admire her for the business aspect. As far as the marriages go, i think that she is getting married quickly because she is 35 years old and maybe is thinking she wants to settle down and have a family, but she makes the mistake of rushing into things. Anyway i dont know why all this interests me so much, but anyone have an opinion on the show on Sunday?

I rememer during the service meeting the brother had been talking about the new magazines that has arrived the the KH that week and one of them had the topic of breast cancer and showed how women can give themselves breast exams. Well Crazy Brother decided instead of reading it he would SHOW us how to give oursleves a breast exam. At first my jaw dropped that he was actually doing this and then i just laughed hysterically for the rest of the meeting

Yea the guy i have been dating used to be a dub. Well he was never baptized but he did go to meetings and assemblies till he was like 10 or 11. Another coincidence with him is that when i met him he told me he worked at the bank in a museum. My sister was working there and it turned out they know each other. Small world

The movie - SIDEWAYS

y'all this is the best movie of the year.. i laughed out loud, i laughed so hard.... and i felt so emotional too.
i didn't cry, but i empathized with the both characters.

I saw Sideways. I agree it was very funny but i def dont agree it was the best movie of the year. I think it was a good story and good acting and funny, but not the best. Sorry :) I saw Closer as well. I am glad Natalie Portman won a Golden Globe and was nominated for an Oscar. She highly deserved it!

One,
You say that JW's did not extensively research their own literature. But whats the point really? Wether you know a little or a lot of the organization you are a part of, you are still researching inside information. You will still end up convincing yourself this is the truth. It would be a lot more admirable on their behalf, to urge people to search outside of the box and come up with their own conclusions. I was in the Org. since i was born until i was 22. I NEVER remember being urged to research and question the decision i made to get baptized and to be a witness. In fact i remember many times, how different publications would say if you have doubts you should pray to Jah and he will rid you of these doubts and fears. I always knew that made no sense. As soon as you ask a question that implies doubt they immediately ask if you were listening to certain music or watching certain movies that might be influencing you.
I dont know why you think that the "wordly" girls dont make sense as far as relationships go. I know this does not apply to everyone, but i know A LOT of JW couples, married or dating, who are very obvioiusly not in love and are together for the wrong reason. But because divorce is "anti-Christian" (except if there is adultery) they have to stay together in a love-less relationship. Atleast "wordly" people to know if it aint workin' toss it. In the meantime you are free to have fun, date, be physical with whomever you'd like as long as you are safe about it. People are gonna be scum wether they are witnesses or not. One doesnt make more sense than the other.
I understand that some teaching aspects of the org. were good to learn but yes they are definetly reiterated in a more realistic manner in college. In school they do not tell you if you do something wrong "Satan might be poisining your mind". That is ridiculous. But it is something the JW's find normal.
This is in no way to bash or to argue just my point of view. And like it was said before, everyone is free to pursue happiness and believe what they feel is good for them
